Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to information you give us through this website, mainly through the project enquiry form. It does not cover services we provide to clients, which are governed by separate agreements.

Who we are

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we receive:

• your name, email address and company or organisation, and the description you write;
• anything you choose to add in the optional fields: your role, your company website, an area of interest and the systems involved;
• the date and time, and the page you sent it from;
• a one-way hashed code derived from your connection’s IP address, used only to limit repeated submissions. We don’t store the IP address itself.

The form asks you not to include passwords, API keys or confidential customer information. If you do, we will remove it from the enquiry once we notice.

Why we use it

We use your enquiry to understand what you need, reply to you and, if you want to go further, discuss a possible project. We don’t add you to a mailing list, and sending an enquiry is not consent to marketing.

Enquiries are not added to any AI search index, are not used to train AI models and are not sent to AI providers.

Spam protection

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that it is being used by a person. Turnstile processes technical information about your browser and device to do this. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for how it handles that information.

Where it is stored and who receives it

This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Enquiries are stored in a Cloudflare database and a notification is emailed to [To confirm: the inbox that receives enquiries]. Cloudflare may process this information on servers outside South Africa. Only the people at Porthera who handle enquiries can view them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for [To confirm: retention period], then delete them, unless they become part of a project, in which case the project agreement applies.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [To confirm: contact email address]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
